KCS PASS Board of Directors

Amanda Collins, EdS

Founder; Chair; Director of Fundraising

Amanda has a 20+ year history working with CELD-diverse students and their families, educators, and medical/mental health providers, as well as previous experience with family-focused nonprofits. She holds an EdS and MEd from Georgia State University and a BS from Berry College. Amanda and her husband Dan have been KCS parents non-stop since 2011, with all three of their children currently attending KCS in-person.

Brian R Carniello, PhD

Vice-Chair; Director of Communications

Brian has been a resident of West Knoxville for 16 years. His oldest son graduated from Bearden High and his two younger sons will be homeschooled until vaccine approval for children under 12. He received his MA at Western Michigan University and his PhD at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he studied religious movements and social history in 13th-century Italy. Brian has previously served on the Board of Losel Shedrup Ling of Knoxville.

Michael Morrow

Secretary; co-Director of Community Care

Michael is a former special education teacher and facilitator, and current parent of a KCS student. He works as an educational and behavioral consultant while pursuing his PhD in special education and BCBA certification at the University of Tennessee.

Heather Morgan

Treasurer; co-Director of Data and Analysis

Heather and her husband Ned have three children who attend Knox County Schools, two at Rocky Hill Elementary and one at West Valley Middle School. Heather is an attorney and CPA with degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is an involved community member and has a passion for helping others.

Rev Katina Sharp

Compassion Ally; co-Director of Community Care

Katina is the pastor of Powell Presbyterian Church. She and her husband Mike have 4 sons in Hardin Valley schools, and she is a graduate of Bearden High School. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Ministry through the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary.

Andrew Fels, Esq

co-Director of Steering and Strategy

Andrew is an attorney native to Knoxville. He is a former Tennessee supreme court judicial clerk and current law professor.

Caroline Mann, MS, MBA

Director of Actions

Caroline is the parent of three KCS students (one graduate and two in high school), and a 15-year veteran of PTSOs, fundraisers, and after-school enrichment programs. She has an MS in Information Science from UT and an MBA from the College of William and Mary, and currently works at Tennessee’s flagship public university.

Nathan Kelly, PhD

co-Director of Data and Analysis

Nate is a resident of Old North Knoxville with a child attending Beaumont Magnet Academy. He received his PhD at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He studies social and economic inequality and public policy. He has previously served on the Knoxville-Knox County Metropolitan Planning Commission.

Stephanie Kodish

co-Director of Steering and Strategy

Stephanie is a solutions driven leader, strategist and advocate for social justice and the environment at the national and community level. Stephanie holds a JD and MSEL from Vermont Law School and BA from the Ohio State University. She and her husband Rob have lived in Knox County for over a decade and have three children with their eldest attending Bearden Middle School.
